SRI Chat - Socially Responsible Investing
Subject: SRI 401(k)

My company (a small one) is starting up a 401(k) and I'm trying to find out anything I can about socially responsible 401(k) plans. So far after quite a bit of web research I've found nothing. Are there any? I am uncomfortable with not knowing who my money will be capitalizing but think a 401(k) sounds like a very good thing. Are there any good alternatives? Has anyone opted out of company 401(k) plans and if so how did they work it out so they wouldn't take too big a hit tax-wise, and how did they convince the boss (or HR) to pay into their retirement fund?

Thanks! (please reply direct to me)
