First Delta Federal Credit Union and Quitman County Development Organization, Inc., its sponsoring organization, recently closed four of eight new homeowner loans on Thursday, July 2. Each home cost almost $100,000 to build, but was financed for only around $56,000. These families received down payment assistance through the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas, Texas, IDA Matching funds and other down payment assistance monies, as they were all first time homebuyers. The American dream of owning your own home will be realized by a total of eight families. “There are benefits to be had when families improve their living condition,” said Marks Mayor Aubrey Collums. “We are glad to have these families become a part of our community.” The 1300 square feet, three bedrooms, two baths, brick veneer homes are located on Hill Street, Marks, Mississippi.
