The Puget Sound Educational Service District (PSESD) is building the Educare Learning Center at Greenbridge in the White Center neighborhood of Seattle as a key component of its White Center Early Learning Initiative (WCELI). Funded by Thrive by Five, a public/private partnership, WCELI supports young children's growth and development and works to ensure their social and emotional readiness to learn before they enter the school system.
When completed, the 30,000sf LEED Silver certified learning center will provide services to approximately 134 children: 32 infants and toddlers, and 102 preschoolers. The facility will have classrooms for training of preschool teachers, childcare providers and parents as well as for family and community gatherings.
The construction of the Educare Learning Center supports family resilience by provides access to essential services like health care, affordable housing, child care, and food.
