Monica Landry, a native New Orleanian, is the owner of ML & Associates, a local bookkeeping firm. This newly created business stems from Monica’s prior knowledge and experience in the bookkeeping industry, and her unwavering desire to be an entrepreneur. When asked about the affect Hurricane Katrina had on her, she says that “it is a very, very long story,” but put simply she states that the experience was “life changing.” During the storm, Monica had to evacuate New Orleans, which resulted in a loss of revenue, records, and many personal items. However, Monica has persevered and greatly enjoys owning her own business as it provides a sense of independence. Monica admits that she would not have been able to expand her business without an 8th degree micro loan, which she learned about through her ASI membership and our website. She will use loan proceeds to purchase software, and hardware for the company and also to help market the business. In the future, she hopes to expand her business throughout the state of Louisiana.
