FWWB combines capacity building with financial support, Its focus is on identifying small, promising MFIs and building their capacity with funding and technical assistance to graduate them to a stage where they have systems and the capacity to become sustainable financial institutions capable of reaching a large number of poor clients. FWWB has designed separate packages of services that are offered to each category of partner according to their capacity building needs. The services offered range from technical assistance t infrastructure support training and exposure visits. FWWB categorizes MFIs into general partners, Institutional Development Partners and Big Partners. IDP is further categorized into A B C depending on their overall score. FWWB strategy to identify small and promising MFIs, nurture them to GP, graduate them to IDP and enable them to transform into Big which will give them access to the formal banking sector.
